Platform-policy explainer

Are agency ad accounts safe and allowed? What the platform rules say

The short answer

Managing ads for other advertisers through agency structures is documented by Meta, Google and TikTok. That does not make every account arrangement permitted. Meta requires separate accounts per advertiser and prohibits selling or renting administrative access and helping anyone evade enforcement. An agency account does not exempt any ad from policy review. Review the advertiser, offer, ads and actual access arrangement; no service label establishes safety or approval.

  • Documented: agency management using the platform’s account and permission tools, subject to its terms.
  • Prohibited by Meta: trading administrative access, mixing clients in one account or helping evade enforcement.
  • Still your responsibility: truthful business information, lawful assets, payment authorization, ads and destinations.

What the platforms’ own rules say

These are platform-specific rules, not interchangeable promises about all agency accounts. The Meta excerpts below were checked on its official Advertising Standards page on 2026-10-21, under “Things you should know,” items 5–6.

Meta also says not to change the advertiser or client associated with an established ad account and makes the manager responsible for each advertiser’s compliance. Read the full current terms and obtain advice about your actual arrangement.

each advertiser or client must be managed through separate ad accounts.

Agency service vs account rental: how to tell them apart

Assess the written arrangement and actual conduct, not the phrase on a sales page. A named provider and a contract are due-diligence starting points, not proof that every activity is permitted by a platform.

Account-rental warning signs include an anonymous seller, accounts marketed by their age or prior use, access sold without advertiser review, password handover, promises of immunity from enforcement or replacements after restrictions.

Identifiable providerLegal entity, named contacts, service scope and written terms.
Declared advertiserThe actual business and offer are reviewed and accurately represented.
Separate advertisersOn Meta, separate ad accounts for each advertiser; do not switch the advertiser on an established account.
Permission-based accessUse authorized platform permissions, never a shared password.
Ads and destinationsReview the real ads, destination and business before launch.
EnforcementNo promise that the account avoids platform review or restrictions.

What can still get an agency account restricted

Review can involve the advertising content, destination and associated business assets—not only a single ad. Agency access does not prevent the platform from reviewing or restricting them.

Examples to investigate include policy-violating ads or destinations, inaccurate business information, payment methods used without authorization, mixing clients where separate accounts are required, and attempts to evade enforcement. Check the platform’s stated reason; this is not an exhaustive or universal list.

How AdsGorilla handles this

AdsGorilla reviews the business, destination, markets and required permissions before a proposed setup is confirmed. Existing restrictions must be disclosed for review, not concealed through a different account or identity.

Our acceptable-use policy prohibits policy evasion, cloaking, destination switching, misrepresentation and attempts to bypass platform review. Platform policies also apply and may be stricter than our summary. Approval by AdsGorilla is not platform approval; approval, delivery and results are not promised.

AdsGorilla is an independent service provider. Platform trademarks belong to their owners. These operating checks are not a legal opinion about any particular arrangement.

Read the acceptable-use policyService terms

If your account was restricted

Use the platform’s official review or appeal process. Record the affected account, stated reason and requested verification; do not treat a new agency account as a substitute for resolving the restriction.

Disclose the restriction before requesting a setup review. A different account does not itself establish permission to resume advertising, and this guide does not provide a workaround.

Checklist before you sign up with any provider

Ask for the account and advertiser arrangement in writing before paying. Resolve unclear answers about access, billing, platform requirements and service closure rather than assuming the service name answers those questions.

  • Identify the legal provider, actual advertiser and account holder.
  • Confirm separate client accounts where required and authorized access without password sharing.
  • Record the business, offer, destinations, asset rights and payment authorization being reviewed.
  • Confirm fees, support scope, ownership, permitted exports and exit terms in writing.
  • Reject enforcement-evasion promises and disclose existing restrictions for review.

Agency account policy FAQ

Are agency ad accounts allowed?

Agency management through platform permissions is a documented arrangement. That is different from selling account access. Meta prohibits selling or renting site privileges, including administrative access. A service label does not establish that a particular arrangement meets the platform terms.

Is renting a Facebook ad account against Meta’s rules?

Meta’s wording on account rental is: “you must not sell, rent, buy or exchange site privileges, such as administrative access, for assets that belong to you or that you manage. Helping anyone evade or circumvent our enforcement of our policies or terms of service is also prohibited.” Review the actual service, access and advertiser arrangement rather than relying on a sales label.

Are agency ad accounts safe?

No arrangement is automatically safe. The same platform policies and enforcement apply. Review the advertiser, offer, destination, access, payment arrangements and written terms. Compliance is necessary, but it is not a promise of approval, delivery or results.

Can an agency ad account be banned or restricted?

Yes. A platform can restrict an agency-managed account or its associated business assets. Agency access is not an exemption from ad review, account requirements or enforcement.

Can one ad account be used for several clients?

Meta requires separate ad accounts for each advertiser or client and says not to change the advertiser associated with an established account. Do not treat this Meta rule as a quotation of another platform’s terms; check each platform’s current requirements.

Do agency accounts avoid bans or spend limits?

No. AdsGorilla does not promise immunity from restrictions or a particular spending limit. The platform determines eligibility, review and enforcement for the account and its activity.

Can I use an agency account after my own account was suspended?

Not as a way around a suspension or restriction. Use the platform’s official review or appeal process and disclose existing restrictions before any proposed setup is reviewed. A different account does not establish permission to resume advertising.

What does AdsGorilla not allow?

AdsGorilla’s acceptable-use policy prohibits policy evasion, cloaking, destination switching, misrepresentation and attempts to bypass platform review. Platform policies also apply and may be stricter. Approval by AdsGorilla is not approval by an advertising platform.
