Ecommerce advertising: connect the store, the ads and the records

An illustrative ecommerce workflow for account setup, product assets, checkout measurement and funding across Google, Meta and TikTok.

AdsGorillaPublished 2026-10-20

Illustrative scenarios — not customer case studies or performance claims.

The short answer

What to know before you begin

For an online store, prepare the product offer and purchase path before choosing account support or campaign management. Keep advertising funding, platform spend and actual orders as distinct records.

Who this is for

Online stores preparing advertising with an internal buyer or an agreed campaign management team.

The workflow, at a glance

01

Prepare the store

Check product details, assets and checkout.

02

Confirm the setup

Agree the platform, permissions and operating owner.

03

Review orders and spend

Reconcile campaign reporting with business records.

The situation

Consider a store with products ready to sell and a team deciding how to start advertising. Google, Meta and TikTok need different assets and account arrangements; opening an account is only one part of the work. This scenario shows the preparation and division of responsibility, not a customer result or a promise of sales.

Prepare the purchase path first

Check product descriptions, prices, stock and delivery information on the destination. Test the checkout on a phone as well as a desktop. If a campaign uses a product feed, confirm who maintains it and resolves product-data errors. For video-led advertising, confirm usage rights and who supplies the next creative iteration.

  • Keep the advertised offer consistent with the product page.
  • Identify the owner of product data and creative assets.
  • Check that a completed order can be identified in the store records.

Choose an operating arrangement

An internal buyer can retain campaign decisions with Self Managed. A store needing an operating team can discuss Fully Managed for Google, Meta or TikTok. In both cases the business supplies accurate product information, the functioning store and approvals. Product photography, new videos and website development are not assumed to be included.

Review business results alongside the platform report

Compare actual orders, refunds and fulfillment information with the campaign data using matching periods and currencies. A platform-reported conversion is not automatically a profitable fulfilled order. Separately reconcile credit, fees and funding movements; a top-up should not be counted as campaign spend. Keep unexplained differences visible for review.
