Facebook Ads agency account: prepare your Meta assets

Prepare your Facebook Page, Instagram assets, campaign goal, measurement and access arrangements before a Meta ad account onboarding review.

The short answer

What to know before you begin

A Meta ad account, a Facebook Page and an Instagram profile are different assets. List the assets the campaign needs, identify who controls them and agree the required permissions. Ad account access alone is not a complete launch setup.

Who this is for

Teams preparing Facebook or Instagram advertising through a Meta ad account service.

1. Make an asset inventory

Start with the business, website and Facebook Page you intend to advertise. Add the Instagram profile and other business assets if they are part of your plan. Record identifiers or links, the responsible person and whether the team can currently access each asset.

  • Business and ad account identifiers, if already available.
  • Facebook Page and any Instagram profile intended for the campaign.
  • Website, relevant measurement assets and their current owner.

2. Agree on asset-specific permissions

Do not assume that access to Ads Manager includes control over the Page, profile or every business asset. Explain what the buyer needs to do and have the authorized administrator confirm the appropriate access. Use individual, agreed access rather than sharing a personal password. Confirm the actual configuration during onboarding, because requirements depend on the assets and campaign.

3. Prepare creative with a clear destination

Supply the images or videos, copy and offer that your team has permission to use. Check that the destination explains the same offer and works on mobile. Tell the team which placements you intend to use; eligibility depends on the account, objective and creative format, so not every asset works everywhere.

4. Test the action you want to measure

Choose the business action that matters and check where completed events are recorded. If a website or CRM integration is already in place, describe it and test the relevant path. Agree what evidence will confirm a successful test rather than treating an installed pixel as proof of conversion receipt.

  • Choose a specific action: for example a completed inquiry or purchase.
  • Check the destination and the event or record created by that action.
  • Agree who checks measurement after changes to the site or campaign.

5. Write down the operating arrangement

Confirm who approves ads, changes budgets and requests funding. Self Managed keeps campaign operations with your buyer; Fully Managed adds the agreed campaign work. For access issues, send the relevant asset reference and a redacted error message. Do not send passwords or another person’s private account information.
